Cesarean Delivery Informational Video

This video profiles a couple in India, Seema and her partner Vijay, as they visit with their provider at a hospital in the days prior to Seema’s delivery. Seema receives a checkup, and the provider assures Seema that she will likely deliver without incident. However, the doctor lets the couple know that cesarean section is an option in the event it is needed to protect the life of the mother and baby – often when there are multiples, the baby is in breech position, or when there an emergency, such as prolonged labor. The provider advises the couple how to identify and prepare for emergency obstetrics situations. The couple is grateful for the advice and support of the doctor, and the health worker in their community. In Hindi and Kannada (with English subtitles).

Safe, Dignified, Respectful Delivery: A Counseling Tool for Health Workers

This tool is designed to assist health workers lead a conversation around childbirth, including the role of the partner, vaginal delivery, as well as emergency situations and cesarean delivery when vaginal delivery may not be possible. This resource is available in English, Hindi, and Kannada.

Chatbots, Board Games, and More: Using Innovative Methods to Engage Men in Family Health

Male engagement, whether as part of a child’s immunization journey or a couple’s decision about family planning, is critical for the success of various family health programs. In the MOMENTUM webinar “Chatbots, Board Games, and More: Using Innovative Methods to Engage Men in Family Health,” held on June 27th, 2023, speakers from five countries share that men are willing to support their families’ health needs but need to be engaged intentionally to understand the benefits and how best to do it. In the webinar, they highlight a chatbot to engage men in family planning, a board game to facilitate couples’ communication, global vasectomy trends, insights about men’s roles in children’s immunization, and ideas for engaging men in ways that support women’s rights and autonomy.

Lessons from Partnering with Faith-Based Organizations in Very Young Adolescent Programming

This activity sought to strengthen local partner capacity to apply effective programming addressing challenges facing very young adolescents, a population that is commonly overlooked.

South Sudan Social Norms Assessment

In 2021, MOMENTUM Integrated Health Resilience conducted an assessment of social norms related to voluntary family planning and reproductive health in South Sudan.
