COMING SOON: Toolkit to Identify, Reach, Monitor, Measure, and Advocate for Un- and Under- Immunized Children and Communities

This toolkit, which will be available in February 2025, is designed to help immunization program managers at national and subnational levels, as well as supporting organizations, identify and address gaps in immunization coverage.  By operationalizing the IRMMA (Identify – Reach – Monitor – Measure – Advocate) framework, the toolkit provides practical decision-making criteria and tools to determine when, where, and how to conduct rapid assessments or targeted surveys, and to take effective actions to reach, vaccinate, and follow up with un- and under-immunized communities.

The toolkit consists of two modules: a national module and a subnational module. It offers hands-on guidance with case studies and links to complementary resources, such as Rapid Convenience Monitoring, Lot Quality Assurance Sampling, Reaching Every District, and the CDC’s Data Triangulation Guide. It also incorporates methods like root cause analysis and human-centered design.

Key topics covered include: :

  • Identifying un- and under-immunized communities and zero-dose children
  • Characterizing zero-dose children: understanding who they are, how many, and why they remain unvaccinated
  • Determining if a targeted survey is needed
  • Tailoring interventions for different contexts
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effects of interventions
  • Using data for advocacy

Available in English and French, this toolkit equips users with actionable strategies to close immunization gaps. Coming February 2025!
