The Power of Youth Voices: How Youth Are Holding Their Health Systems Accountable for Family Planning and Reproductive Health

MOMENTUM identified challenges to youth social accountability related to youth participation, health system responsiveness, and an over-emphasis on short-term project-based accountability compared with sustainable youth-led movement building. Promising practices for youth social accountability emerging from the landscape include capacity building for youth and adults, strengthening relationships between youth and health system actors, leveraging digital connectedness, and targeting accountability efforts at multiple levels of the health system. Through this landscape analysis, we found that youth social accountability implementation is racing ahead of documentation and that there are opportunities to improve youth social accountability practice in order to increase youth leadership and improve the responsiveness of health systems to the needs and rights of youth.

MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery Fact Sheet

MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery harnesses the potential of the private sector to expand access to and use of high-quality, evidence-based maternal, newborn, and child health services, voluntary family planning, and reproductive health care. The project collaborates with governments, local organizations, communities, and private providers in all their forms—including private clinics, faith-based clinics, pharmacies, and drug shops—to generate market-based solutions that drive scale in service delivery and long-term sustainability of health coverage and outcomes.

MOMENTUM Integrated Health Resilience Fact Sheet

MOMENTUM Integrated Health Resilience works alongside local organizations, governments, and humanitarian and development partners in fragile settings to accelerate reductions in maternal, newborn, and child illness and death by increasing the capacity of partner country institutions and local organizations—including new and underutilized partners—to introduce, deliver, scale up, and sustain the use of evidence-based, quality maternal, newborn and child health services, voluntary family planning, and reproductive health care.

Effects of COVID-19 on Essential MNCHN/FP/RH Care and the Strategies and Adaptations Emerging in Response: Rapid Evidence Summary

This rapid evidence summary reviews emerging evidence of the effects of COVID-19 on provision and demand of essential maternal, newborn, and child health and nutrition, family planning, and reproductive health (MNCHN/FP/RH) care, the strategies and adaptations emerging in response, and their effects. The accompanying policy brief offers recommendations for MOMENTUM awards and USAID Missions to maximize the impact of response efforts and strengthen the evidence base to inform current and future efforts. In addition, the annotated bibliography summarizes findings from each of the evidence summary's resources.
