Use of family planning in Pakistan has steadily increased over the past decade[1] , and has made a crucial impact on decreased rates of maternal and child mortality. The private sector plays a key role in Pakistan’s health sector, helping keep more mothers and children alive. MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery works across Pakistan to increase access to high-quality health care and make reproductive health care, information, and services more accessible and acceptable, especially through the private sector.

In April, the MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery team in Pakistan hosted USAID Pakistan to discuss the project’s progress and consider a strategic path forward as the project continues into its next phase. MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery works in Pakistan’s Sindh province to implement gender-transformative approaches to family planning and reproductive health, supporting both men and women to access the information, options, and resources they need to make informed decisions about family planning.

During the meeting, the MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery team shared progress on the development of a chatbot that is focused on engaging men as supportive partners for family planning. The chatbot, which will be launched in June, will be the first in Pakistan to focus on male engagement in family planning. It will also link users to e-commerce and telehealth options for reproductive health products, information, and services.
