Methods and Measures to Assess Health Care Provider Behavior and Behavioral Determinants in Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, and Child Health: A Rapid Review

This rapid review published in Global Health: Science and Practice, authored by staff from MOMENTUM Safe Surgery in Family Planning and Obstetrics, identifies the opportunities and gaps in measurement of health care provider behavior by focusing on domains that correspond to factors that influence provider behavior and service provision and incorporate elements beyond provider competency and skills.

Closing Immunization Equity Gaps Using Human-Centered Design Approaches in Madagascar

In Madagascar, 33% of children aged 12-23 months of age have never received a vaccination and are therefore entirely missed by country's national immunization system and potentially the broader health system. This report outlines a MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership assessment that explored four areas that, if addressed, can close gaps in immunization equity: zero dose vaccination, birth dose vaccination, missed opportunities for vaccination, and urban vaccination. The report also details the outcomes of a human-centered design workshop held to co-create solutions to barriers or challenges in each of these four areas.

Integration of Immunization and Nutrition to Reach Zero-Dose Children

This report from MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership aims to stimulate further discussions and actions on improving the integration of services to address the twin challenge of zero dose children and malnutrition in Madagascar. The publication presents a detailed assessment of the current status and challenges of integrating immunization and nutrition services in two districts of Madagascar. It also shares co-created solutions from human-centered design workshops to understand the current practices, challenges, and potential tools for reaching zero dose children through the integration of immunization program with nutrition services in Madagascar.

MOMENTUM Résilience Sanitaire Intégrée Enquête sur la Nutrition des Ménages

L'est de la République Démocratique du Congo (RDC) est une région fragile et fortement conflictuelle où la santé des enfants est inférieure aux niveaux optimaux, et où le retard de croissance et l'émaciation continuent d'être des problèmes majeurs. Au cours de l'été 2022, MOMENTUM Résilience Sanitaire Intégrée a mené une enquête sur les connaissances, les attitudes et les pratiques (KAP) dans les zones de recrutement de 60 établissements soutenus par MOMENTUM dans 10 zones de santé au Nord-Kivu, dans l'est de la RDC. Charting a Path Towards Local Capacity Strengthening: Systems and Tools for Mapping and Planning

On September 6, 2023, Data for Impact (D4I) and MOMENTUM’s Monitoring, Evaluation, Innovation, and Learning (ME/IL) Working Group held a webinar panel and discussion about tools that catalyze local capacity strengthening, as outlined in USAID’s Local Capacity Strengthening Policy. Both MOMENTUM Knowledge Accelerator and D4I have developed and implemented tools to assess and monitor organizational-level capacity strengthening. MOMENTUM Knowledge Accelerator discussed the forthcoming Capacity Mapping and Monitoring System (CMMS). Nigerian-based Data Research and Mapping Consult, Ltd. (DRMC) highlighted their experience using D4I’s capacity planning tool, Research and Evaluation Capacity Assessment Tool and Resource Package (RECAP).

Tracer la voie vers le renforcement des capacités locales : Systèmes et outils de cartographie et de planification

Le 6 septembre 2023, Data for Impact (D4I) et le groupe de travail de MOMENTUM sur le suivi, l'évaluation, l'innovation et l'apprentissage (ME/IL) ont organisé un webinaire et une discussion sur les outils qui catalysent le renforcement des capacités locales, comme indiqué dans la politique de renforcement des capacités locales de l'USAID. MOMENTUM Facilitator d'Apprentissage et D4I ont tous deux développé et mis en œuvre des outils pour évaluer et suivre le renforcement des capacités au niveau organisationnel. MOMENTUM Integrated Health Resilience Household Nutrition Survey

The eastern Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) is a fragile and high-conflict region where child health is below optimal levels, and stunting and wasting continue to be major problems. In the summer of 2022, MOMENTUM Integrated Health Resilience conducted a knowledge, attitudes, and practices (KAP) survey in the catchment areas of 60 MOMENTUM-supported facilities across 10 health zones in North Kivu in eastern DRC.
