Implementation of Bandebereho (Ma’Aurata Abun Koyi/Uto Ezi NA Ulo) Parenting Intervention Program in Nigeria

MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership targeted newly married couples in Nigeria to transform harmful gender norms, using fatherhood as an entry point to build healthier couple relations and promote men’s caregiving. In 2022, the project adapted the Bandebereho (“role model” in Kinyarwanda) program, first piloted in Rwanda, to engage Nigerian couples to enhance communication and positive parenting. This brief summarizes the introduction of the Bandebereho intervention in Sokoto and Ebonyi states, as well as the results, lesson learned, and recommendations for future implementation.

Service Experience Findings Summary: Kenya

As part of an effort to improve both provider and caregiver experience of care, MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity conducted a qualitative inquiry with a broad range of health providers in Homa Bay and Vihiga counties in Kenya. This deck provides an overview of the insights from the qualitative inquiry and provides recommendations for how the data can be used by health management in Kenya to improve immunization outcomes.

Service Experience Findings: Benin

The Vaccination Demand Hub, in collaboration with the MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity project, is exploring how countries are using service experience interventions. Using data from a formative assessment, MOMENTUM conducted a secondary analysis to explore how service experience is being implemented in Benin and identified enablers and barriers to improving the quality of immunization programs in the country. This deck provides insights to help implementers improve service experience in Benin.

Routine Immunization Microplanning Challenges and Opportunities in Low- and Middle-Income Countries: A Mixed-Method Landscape Analysis

This article was published on December 4, 2024 in Vaccines. This study investigates the use of microplanning as a tool to enhance immunization coverage and equity. There is limited evidence on how microplans are developed and implemented and the effectiveness of microplanning. As such, this study sought to review the existing evidence on implementation and institutionalization of microplanning; identify strategies to improve microplanning; and document evidence on new approaches to microplanning, including digitally enhanced and integrated microplanning.
