Updated Training Resources Now Available for Family Planning Community
Published on April 10, 2023
A newly updated Training Resource Package for Family Planning—or TRP—has now launched, offering revamped curriculum components and tools for trainers to design, implement, and evaluate family planning (FP) and reproductive health (RH) training.
“On behalf of USAID, WHO [World Health Organization], and UNFPA [United Nations Population Fund], MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership is eager to share the culmination of two years of work to revamp this treasured resource for the global FP community. We wish to reach every organization conducting training in FP with information about this resource, encourage their trainers, educators, mentors to create a profile and interact with each other and their peers across the world. We also welcome all feedback on how to make this resource more useful,” says Anne Pfitzer, Family Planning Director, MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership.
The website first launched in 2012, led by USAID, WHO, and UNFPA, with participation from multiple organizations. From 2020-2022, USAID’s MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership conducted extensive research with TRP users and experts, building on landscaping research and user analytics to improve the site’s functionality, making it even more accessible and user-friendly.
The TRP uses evidence-based technical information and houses a copyright-free and continually updated clinical library of resources needed to design, implement, and evaluate FP and RH training. Users can also sign up to be a member of this global community.
