Understanding the Cold Chain Maintenance System in Niger

MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity conducted a human-centered design study in Niger to delve into challenges within Niger’s cold chain maintenance system, considering the perspectives of various stakeholders. This comprehensive report details the approach and results from co-creation activities. The results uncovered ways to improve the system by maximizing stakeholder strengths and fine-tuning procedures and guidance for cold chain operations.

From March 18–19, 2024, the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) hosted an Immunization Partners’ Meeting convening USAID Missions, implementing partners including USAID MOMENTUM, and external stakeholders at a critical moment for the global immunization community. This booklet contains abstracts submitted by USAID implementing partners for an Innovation and Learning Marketplace that took place during the event. Understanding the Dynamics Behind Cesarean Section Procedures in Private and Public Health Facilities

There is limited understanding about the dynamics of caesarean birth operations across public and private sector health facilities in low and middle-income countries. This report details the key findings and implications from a multi-country secondary analysis conducted by MOMENTUM and the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, using Demographic and Health Survey (DHS) household data, and Service Provision Assessment (SPA) health facility data.

Coordinating Hybrid and Virtual In-Service Trainings for Health Workers in Fragile Settings

Remote and blended or hybrid training models are relevant for projects working in fragile and conflict-affected contexts. These models offer logistical practicalities and minimize off-site training times for health workers. This brief reviews two models of contextually tailored trainings: one remote, and one hybrid/blended model. The aim is to provide useful information to support planning and implementation of trainings for health workers in resource-strained and complex settings such as South Sudan.

Adaptive Learning to Advance Behavior Change to Increase Uptake of COVID-19 Vaccines in Serbia, North Macedonia, and Moldova

MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity provided technical assistance to Serbia, North Macedonia, and Moldova to increase COVID-19 vaccine uptake among priority populations. The project used a behavioral integration approach to reach pregnant women and people 45+ with chronic diseases through workshops and educational sessions that embraced COVID-19 vaccination as part of a healthy lifestyle.
