MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity Wins USAID’s Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting Case Competition
Published on September 29, 2023
USAID uses a Collaboration, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) approach to help its partners address common challenges that pervade international development assistance. Each year, USAID hosts a CLA Case Competition to capture real-life examples of how USAID staff and partners use the approach. The 2023 CLA Case Competition gathered cases from around the world that demonstrate how CLA can help address pressing development challenges, from localization to sustainable development. We are pleased to announce that this year, MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity was among the winners of USAID’s 2023 CLA Case Competition!
MOMENTUM Routine Immunization Transformation and Equity’s winning entry showcased its internal CLA Case Competition, which the project used to document how it introduced and scaled up COVID-19 vaccination services across 19 countries. Previously, the project had not systematically documented and learned from implementing CLA approaches in the context of the emergency COVID-19 vaccination response. MOMENTUM’s internal case competition received 54 entries from nine countries, including many submissions from local partners. Entries documented examples of CLA across the project, enabled sharing and learning, and strengthened the culture and skills necessary for CLA.
