MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery in Benin Launches Field Support Activities

In partnership with USAID Benin and the Beninese Ministry of Health, MOMENTUM Private Healthcare Delivery held an event on June 29 in Sakété, Benin to mark the official launch of its activities in the country. Activities will focus on expanding the scope and scale of quality integrated health services offered through private clinics, youth centers, and mobile clinics, as well as expanding capacity strengthening activities in support of private sector engagement. Activities will be implemented through September 2023 and will support more than 100 health facilities.
In attendance were several USAID staff members, including Benin Country Representative Carl Anderson, USAID Health Office Director John Bernon, and Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn Child Health Specialist Marius Gnintoungbe. High-level authorities from the Ministry of Health and strategic partners, such as the Private Sector Health Platform, also attended. UNICEF National Goodwill Ambassador and renowned vocalist Zeynab Habib added musical flair to the event.
At the event, Mr. Anderson shared his desire for the project to contribute to improving maternal health services, such as prenatal visits, and the strengthening of public-private partnerships for health care.
