Technical Brief: Imaging Ultrasound Before 24 Weeks of Pregnancy

In 2022, the World Health Organization (WHO) updated the routine ultrasound recommendation originally published in the 2016 WHO recommendations on antenatal care for a positive pregnancy experience. This technical brief from MOMENTUM Country and Global Leadership describes the re-affirmed WHO recommendation on routine antenatal ultrasound examination and outlines policy and program implications for translating this recommendation into action at the country level.
